unlogged goes to Egypt

What am I doing?!?! While thinking about some of the many gorgeous Egyptian dive sites, my breath calms down just like it would on a dive…only to be shaken again by the spectre of recent memories. Not only am I going to a country which has been rocked by a revolution, but I also was robbed twice in the last week. On Tuesday, some thief successfully pickpocketted my iPhone, and on Wednesday, some other thief paid a visit to our house, leaving with laptops and everything that was saved on them. Two months of data were lost forever!
Sarcastically, I think about my days as a corporate employee, having the luxury of an IT department that could fix any and all tech problems. Sorry, now it’s all about no one but my team and me. However, looking at my cohorts standing in the queue quickly bolsters my confidence. It’s all there: Brian, with years of experience in writing reviews of restaurants, film, theatre, concerts, and albums; Alice, dive instructor and Middle East veteran, who also has the eye to take great photos; Craig, full of energy and drive to build his budding career as a travel writer and journalist; and Becky, film and editing guru, who can’t be separated from her trusty HD video camera. They’re going to make it happen! YES! Over the next few months, this team is going to create the voice of unlogged and will report back on “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” of diving and dive centres in Egypt. We still have a long way to go, but now it feels like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. There will be plenty more to come in this space, so stay tuned for our further adventures, spread the word, and join us on Facebook, Twitter, and on www.unlogged.co.uk.
